Don’t Lose Your Google Data: Universal Analytics Shut Down

As of July 1, 2024 users won’t be able to access any Universal Analytics properties or APIs and all data will be deleted.

If your organization hasn’t done so already, make sure to save any existing UA data for future reference! Additionally, identify which KPIs are critical for your organization to track over time and ensure you save this data to maintain year-over-year comparisons.

Use this template to add your historic data.

It’s also an ideal time to make sure that any recommended or custom events you wish to track are properly configured in GA4 to avoid losing tracking capabilities. You may need a developer’s help for this setup.

Finally, update your GA4 Explorations data retention settings from the default 2 months to 14 months to prevent losing essential data. f you need help changing this setting, read all about it here.
